Straight From Our Bundoora Yard, Trading Garden and Building Supplies Since 1977

Mercuri Garden & Building Supplies has traded from 2 The Concord, Bundoora since 1977, so when it's a Bundoora address on the order, there's no run across town involved. Collect it yourself from the yard or have it dropped around the corner the same day.

Our side of Bundoora sits in Banyule

Bundoora is a big suburb, and the boundary we sit inside, around The Concord and south toward Plenty Road, falls within the City of Banyule. It's a mixed streetscape: solid brick-veneer homes from the 1970s and 80s on quarter-acre blocks sit alongside newer townhouse developments built on subdivided land, plus plenty of rentals tied to the area's proximity to La Trobe University.

That mix means we see every kind of job come through the gate, established gardens that have had the same beds for thirty years, and brand-new courtyards with no soil structure to speak of yet.

Garden and building materials for both sides of Bundoora

For the established blocks, the usual order is a mulch or pine bark top-up for tired garden beds, a trailer of blended soil or mushroom compost to feed a vegetable patch, or scoria and washed pebbles to redo a drainage line along a fence. For the newer townhouse builds, it's a different list: packing sand and screenings under a new paved courtyard, turf underlay soil for a small lawn, and decorative toppings for a low-maintenance strip garden.

On the building side, Bundoora's age works in our favour: older homes mean a steady stream of extension and renovation jobs needing brick sand, cement, lime and mesh, plus concrete stumps and drainage pipe for the fences and sheds that inevitably need replacing after forty-plus years. If you're not sure what a job needs, bring the measurements in or call ahead and our team will work it out with you.

The simplest run we do

Every other suburb on this list means getting on the M80 Ring Road and driving somewhere. A Bundoora order doesn't: it's a local drop, which makes same-day delivery the easy default rather than something we have to squeeze in. It also means we can take smaller loads that wouldn't be worth a longer trip, from a few bags of compost to a single bag of cement.

Frequently asked

Bundoora FAQ

Do you deliver within Bundoora, or is it pickup only?

Both. Our yard is in Bundoora, so you're welcome to collect your own load, or we can drop it at your door the same way we do for every other suburb we serve.

Which council area is the yard in?

Our side of Bundoora sits within the City of Banyule.

I only need a small trailer load: is that worth a delivery?

Yes. Being based in Bundoora ourselves, short local drops are easy to fit in, so there's no need to wait and bundle a small load in with a bigger order.

What's different about ordering for a brand-new Bundoora courtyard versus an older established garden?

New townhouse courtyards usually need packing sand and screenings under paving, turf underlay soil for a small lawn and decorative toppings for a low-maintenance strip, while older established gardens are more likely to need a mulch or pine bark top-up, or scoria and washed pebbles to redo a drainage line.

Can you supply for a renovation on an older Bundoora home?

Yes. Bundoora's age means a steady stream of extension and renovation jobs, and we regularly supply brick sand, cement, lime and mesh for the build itself, plus concrete stumps and drainage pipe for the fences and sheds that often need replacing after forty-plus years.

Is there a minimum order size for a Bundoora delivery?

Not really. Since we're not travelling any distance, we can fit in smaller Bundoora loads that wouldn't be worth a longer trip elsewhere, down to a few bags of compost or a single bag of cement.
